Credits

littledots is built on work that other people shared first, and we thank every one of them.

Photos on the website and in the app

Many of the photos on this website come from photographers who share their work on Unsplash. In the app, you can pick a trip's cover photo from their library if you like, which gives a trip some color before you have taken any photos there yourself.

Emoji and flags

The emoji in the collages you make are Twemoji, © 2019 Twitter, Inc. and other contributors, so a collage looks the same on every device. Everywhere else you see your device's own emoji, and the web app only falls back to Twemoji in a browser that has none. They are licensed under CC BY 4.0, and we use them unmodified.

The country flags you see on the website, in the app and in collages are flag-icons, © 2013 Panayiotis Lipiridis, under the MIT License.

Maps and place names

The maps in the app are drawn from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License, by way of the Protomaps basemap.

When a trip's Map tab names a stop that is not on the itinerary, the name comes from GeoNames, under CC BY 4.0.

Fonts

The app and this website are set in Manrope, with headings in Bricolage Grotesque. Text in collages is set in Inter, Lora and Caveat. Their designers share all of them through Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.

Everything else

The icons in the app are Lucide, under the ISC License.

Under the hood, littledots runs on more open source projects and libraries than we could ever list here, and we are very grateful for every one of them. The app lists every outside service it talks to, and what each one does for you, under Settings About Third-party services . That list changes with the app, so it is the one to trust.
